Celebration of "World Grandparents Day and International Friendship Day" at Carmel School (CBSE) Moodbidri was held on 9th August 2023. Grandparents are the greatest treasure of our family. They are founders of our loving legacy, the keepers of tradition and the greatest story tellers. They lay a strong foundation to build a happy family through their special love and care. They keep their family close to their heart.

"A good friend is like a four leaf clover hard to find lucky to have." On 7th August Friendship day was celebrated all over the world.

To mark these two lively events namely "World Grandparents Day and International Friendship Day" tiny toddlers of Grade I organised a beautiful programme for grandparents of Nursery, Kindergarten section, Grade I and II. Around 150 grandparents participated in the program.

The program was computed by Myra Mascarenhas. The programme began with a prayer song sung by Grade I followed by a welcome address by Dhanvi Poojary and introduction of the Guest Rev Fr Henry Saldanha by Mrs Raina Rodrigues.

Fr Rev Henry Saldanha from the ArchDiocese of Kolkata graced the occasion by his loving presence who in his address highlighted the significant role played by the grandparents to bring a happy family.

Then the little ones of Grade I A dedicated a skit suiting to the occasion of "International Friendship Day." The significance on "World Grandparents Day and International Friendship Day" was presented by Joyston Pinto. Dances on the theme " The more we get together" ,"Dada dadi nana nani", "Grandparents " were performed by Grade I A and B students.

Interesting games and Ramp walk was conducted for all the grandparents to give the celebration a feel of being a live celebration. The winners were greeted with gifts by the Chief Guest. Vote of thanks was proposed by Sushan Poojary.

A creative and eye capturing selfie corner attracted the audience who flocked with their grandchildren to shoot snaps. The short get together was concluded by serving the refreshments.
