On April 1st, 2024, Carmel School witnessed a momentous occasion as it inaugurated its sports camp and basketball court, marking a significant milestone in the school's commitment to holistic education and fostering a culture of sportsmanship.

The ceremony commenced with a solemn prayer service, invoking divine blessings for the success of the event and the well-being of all present. A soulful prayer song filled the air, setting the tone for a day filled with camaraderie and celebration. The spirit of unity and talent was showcased through a mesmerizing welcome dance, where students portrayed their dreams through graceful movements, captivating the audience with their artistic prowess.

Joswin, a student of grade 10, eloquently welcomed the gathering with words of wisdom, emphasizing the importance of sportsmanship and the transformative journey it offers, beyond mere victory or defeat.

The significance of games was beautifully elucidated by Uvel and Hiba, also of grade 10, highlighting the invaluable lessons of teamwork, perseverance, and personal growth that sports instill in individuals.

The pinnacle of the event arrived with the inauguration of the basketball court, a symbol of Carmel School's dedication to providing students with opportunities for physical education activity and skill development. Chief Guest, Sir Madhu G.R.,the Principal of Alvas College of Physical Education, unveiled the court, commending the school's management and Sr. Gracilda A.C. the principal for their visionary leadership in investing in facilities that enrich students' lives. The newly built kids’ gym was also inaugurated, specifically crafted for young explorers.In his inspiring address, Sir Madhu encouraged students to embrace the ethos of sportsmanship and to explore the myriad benefits of participating in various games offered by the school. He urged them to seize the opportunity to learn and excel, expressing gratitude for the platform Carmel School provides for holistic development. Anvisha, with her poised demeanor, adeptly compered the ceremony, ensuring its smooth progression, while Carol of grade 10 delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the event.

As the students embark on this new chapter of sporting endeavours, their journey of growth, teamwork, and shared experiences is poised to enrich their lives and shape a brighter future.
