Carmel School, Moodbidri celebrated Vanmahotsav day on 27th July 2022.

Vanmahotsav is an annual tree planting festival in India. It was made into a national activity in 1950 by the Minister for Food and Agriculture Kaniyalal Maniklal Munshi.

The programme commenced by invoking God’s blessing on all with a prayer service.

“Knowing trees, I understand the meaning of patience. Knowing grass, I can appreciate persistence” by Hal Borland was beautifully displayed by the dancers through rhythmic dance steps.

“Reversing Deforestation is complicated. Planting trees is simple”. In reference to the above quote by Martin O’ Malley the cause of cutting down trees was enacted through a skit-dance followed by a song on ‘Nature’ sung by our melodious singers.

The Chief Guest of the day Sri Manjunath, Deputy Range Forest Officer, Moodbidri shared the importance of Vanmahotsav Day and encouraged the students to plant more trees. He awakened the students to make each day as a Vanmahotsav Day.

The winners of AICS Cultural Competitions held in Canara High School Mangalore were honoured on this occasion.
