“A great man is different from an eminent one in that he is ready to be the servant of the society – Dr. B. R. Ambedkar.”

Carmel School CBSE Moodbidri celebrated the 72nd Republic Day with pomp and patriotism on 26th January 2021 at the Holy Rosary school grounds. The event began invoking God’s blessing with a prayer song and thereafter, our Joint Secretary Sr. Priya Maria A.C. unfurled the national flag. As the beloved tricolor fluttered majestically high the National Anthem was sung solemnly while the staff saluted the National Flag with great pride. The teachers sang patriotic songs which brought a sense of patriotism among all. The cultural programme was then followed in the school hall. Teacher Shanthi presented the significance of the day. The programme commenced with a prayer service reciting the verses from the holy books and praying for the students, parents, teachers and the nation during the corona pandemic. Teacher Shiny warmly welcomed the Chief Guest Sr. Premal A.C., the Vice Principal with a floral bouquet. To mark the occasion teachers sang patriotic songs which showed the feeling of love, devotion and sense of attachment towards our country. The school echoed with patriotic fervor as the teachers danced to the tunes of patriotism with their rhythmic steps. They also represented and dressed themselves as the leaders and freedom fighters who held hand in hand to gain our freedom. This was a truly inspiring sight which sent waves of patriotism to all assembled. Sr. Premal in her speech enlightened us of the articles of the constitution with regard to justice, liberty, equality, fraternity and dignity of each individual. She asked the gathering to make our country one of the best nation in the world and thus bringing back the meaning of Democracy, which is ruled by the people, of the people and for the people. She also highlighted that we should become Voice for the Voiceless and thus help out to the poor and the marginalized in their difficult situations. She thanked the political leaders for their selfless services and in turn asked to pray for their valuable services which they render to our nation.

Sr. Jyothi Saldanha A.C., the Principal administered the preamble of Indian Constitution and all the staff took a pledge to abide by our constitution.
