Carmel School Moodbidri celebrated the 71st Republic Day at the Holy Rosary School grounds. The students took pride in glorifying and celebrating the spirit of unity and brotherhood.

The event began at 8.45 am, invoking God’s blessings with a prayer song and thereafter hoisting of the Indian National Flag by the Chief Guest Mrs. Daisy Pinto, BRP, BEO Office, along with the dignitaries. Teacher Yashoda welcomed the Chief Guest, Joint Secretary of school Sr. Niveditha, the Principals, Holy Rosary Composite PU College Sr. Leonilla and Sr Jyothi of Carmel School.

To mark the occasion children danced to the tunes of patriotism, enacted a skit on life of a soldier, sang patriotic songs and even wore tri-coloured clothes which brought in sense of patriotism among the audience.

The Chief Guest, in her address highlighted the significance of the day and made the children aware that the future of their country lies in their hands. Hence, they need to study well, inculcate good values in life , build up good leadership skills which will help them to be good citizen of the country. Remembering Dr.B.R Ambedkar, the principal architect of our Indian Constitution, she said, our country is being run by the constitution and it is the Holy Book uniting Indians.

The programme was compered by Viola and Rohith of class VIII and Thasreen of Class X rendered vote of thanks.
